The first presidential election of the new year took place on 6 January. It was also the first election in few months to only have one round.

The winner was Maria Abid with 4 votes, becoming the first female President of the state as well as the first President not of Czech descent. Second placed Ondřej Chalupka and Jan Švejd with two votes each, the latter was appointed as Premier as Chalupka could only run for being the President. Four more people got one vote each and placed third.
